Aston Villa are about to miss out on Arsenal attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe, according to The London Evening Standard.
What’s the story?
The London Evening Standard are reporting that Arsenal are in ‘the final stages’ of tying up a new deal for Smith Rowe.
The 20-year-old attacking midfielder will sign a new deal and commit his long-term future to Arsenal soon.
This means that Villa will miss out on the youngster.
Dean Smith’s side have had bids of £25 million and £30 million for the youngster turned down by Premier League rivals Arsenal.
Unlikely Aston Villa transfer
Smith Rowe was always unlikely to leave Arsenal for Villa this summer.
Of course, money talks, but the Gunners are not exactly in desperate need of cash.
Moreover, Smith Rowe is an Arsenal academy graduate, and the fans would not be happy at all if the Gunners sell him now.

It seems that Villa will now have to look elsewhere for a creative attacking midfielder.
Smith Rowe scored two goals and gave four assists in 20 Premier League matches last season.
The Arsenal youngster also scored one goal and gave three assists in 11 Europa League games.
