Alan Smith has said on Sky Sports Premier League (7:15pm, October 2, 2021) that Arsenal attacking midfielder Emile Smith Rowe was the best player for the Gunners against Brighton and Hove Albion.
Arsenal played out a goalless draw with Brighton away from home in the Premier League this evening.
Former Arsenal striker Smith was on co-commentary duty for the match for Sky Sports.
The pundit believes that 21-year-old Smith Rowe, who can also operate as a winger, was the best player for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Smith said about Smith Rowe: “He has been Arsenal’s best player. Tried almost single-handedly to take the fight to Brighton.”
How did Emile Smith Rowe play?
Arsenal were disappointing against Brighton, who will feel that they should have won the match.
The Gunners could not create much against the Seagulls and failed to really put their defence under pressure throughout the 90 minutes.

Smith Rowe, though, did his best and was always looking to make things happen.
The Arsenal no.10 made some lovely runs, took the game to Brighton, and had a good chance to score.
Smith Rowe took one shot which was on target, played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 96%, took 45 touches, attempted three dribbles, made one tackle, and put two crosses.
