Aston Villa target Emile Smith Rowe will sign a new five-year contract with Arsenal, according to BirminghamLive.
What’s the story?
BirminghamLive are now reporting that Villa will miss out on the signing of Smith Rowe from Arsenal.
The Villans have had two bids for the 20-year-old attacking midfielder turned down by Premier League rivals Arsenal.
The 20-year-old has been holding talks with the Gunners over a new deal.
Those discussions have gone well, and the English youngster will now sign a ‘bumper new five-year contract’.
This means that Villa will miss out on Smith Rowe, described as “very technical” and “very powerful at the same time” by former Arsenal star Freddie Ljungberg on BT Sports 3 (7:21pm, April 29, 2021).

Twist
This latest update is a twist regarding Smith Rowe’s future.
The Mirror (04/07, p76) reported that Villa thought that Arsenal will sell the youngster and were planning a third bid of £32.5 million.
The report claimed that the Gunners were going to at least listen to the offer.

We covered the report here on HITC Sport.
However, this new report in BirminghamLive means that Villa will have to look elsewhere for a creative player.
Smith Rowe is a very talented and promising young player who has come through the academy, and Arsenal fans will not be happy at all if the Gunners sell him now.
