Aston Villa fans want Neil Cutler to stay at the club after Steven Gerrard’s appointment as Head Coach.

On Thursday, Villa announced that Gerrard has replaced Dean Smith in the dugout after they lured him away from Scottish Premiership champions Rangers.

The Englishman’s arrival also means a change of staff and those who worked under Smith heading for the exit door.

Craig Shakespeare has already left, alongside Smith, but the likes of Cutler are still on Villa’s books.

But the 45-year-old is a popular figure with the Villa Park faithful and supporters appreciate the work he has done at Bodymoor Heath.

Emi Martinez is one of the best goalkeepers in Europe right now and many feel that he has played a part in that.

Not forgetting his work with Jed Steer in the Championship and that play-off semi-final penalty shootout win against West Brom.

But if Gerrard does bring all of his backroom staff, then it might signal the end for Cutler, which will disappoint fans.

And in truth, the signs suggest that he will no longer be showcasing his coaching talents at Villa Park anymore.
