Emiliano Martinez has stated on Twitter ‘let’s get more’ after Aston Villa posted about his clean sheets record since being at the club.

It’s been a year to the day that Villa secured the signing of the 29-year-old from Arsenal.

During his time at the club, Martinez has played 41 games and helped the club keep an impressive 16 clean sheets.

Martinez wasn’t part of the team that lost 3-0 to Chelsea last time out because he is self-isolating in Croatia, alongside Emiliano Buendia.

The Premier League-based players representing Argentina caused a bit of a stir, which also sparked a reaction from a certain Lionel Messi.

Well, that’s the plan, anyway, because this whole saga has been a bit of a mess.

But Villa fans will just be glad to have their star man back between the sticks back because he has been outstanding for them during that period.

It’s pretty clear that he is a bit of a crowd favourite and his stock will only rise if he manages to keep a clean sheet against an in-form Everton team at the weekend.

Here is a selection of Villa fans reacting to Martinez’s three-word message:
