Aston Villa goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez has taken to Instagram to celebrate after taking down his former club Arsenal on Saturday evening.
Villa have enjoyed a remarkable few days having beaten both Manchester City and Arsenal at Villa Park.
Unai Emery’s men dominated against City in midweek and arguably could and should have won by a greater scoreline than just 1-0.
Villa were at it again on Saturday, claiming another 1-0 win as John McGinn’s early strike was enough to beat Arsenal.
VIlla had to win in a different way here, withstanding major Arsenal pressure to eventually claim all three points.

This will have been a particularly sweet victory for a number of players in the Villa ranks.
Defender Ezri Konsa is a boyhood Tottenham Hotspur fan and boss Emery was sacked by Arsenal back in 2019.
Then there is goalkeeper Emi Martinez, who will certainly have enjoyed beating his former club.
Sold by Arsenal to Villa in 2020, Martinez has become one of the league’s top goalkeepers – and biggest wind-up merchants.
Martinez made three saves to keep Arsenal at bay and even clashed with Kai Havertz at one point with the pair going head-to-head.
Martinez took to Instagram to react to the victory and offered up just seven words following a big win.
The Argentinian stated ‘we’re not just here to take part’, sending out a strong message as Villa title hopes rise.
It’s still a big ask for Villa to challenge for the title, especially with Europa Conference League action in the schedule.
Villa’s squad depth will be tested and Emery will have worked a miracle if Villa can suddenly challenge for top spot having looked so dire under Steven Gerrard.
Martinez will be key to any title hopes and nobody will be fancying a trip to Villa Park any time soon with Emery’s men racking up win after win.
