Arsenal fans have praised Granit Xhaka for showing his quality under Mikel Arteta.
Xhaka was a divisive figure in Arsenal’s line-up during Unai Emery’s time in charge, and he was famously booed off the pitch when substituted on one occasion.
However, the Swiss international’s popularity has quickly risen since Arteta took charge and his importance to the side can no longer be doubted.
Xhaka picked up an injury early on in Arsenal’s first game back after lockdown, and the Gunners badly missed him in his absence.
However, he returned to the side last night, as Arsenal put in a much improved performance against Southampton and won 2-0.
Xhaka has now earned great praise from Arsenal fans on Twitter, and he is quickly changing opinions among the Emirates Stadium crowd.
Arsenal’s win over Southampton was achieved through goals from Eddie Nketiah and Joe Willock.
