Emerson Hyndman has revealed that he spoke to Gedion Zelalem before joining Rangers.
New Rangers signing Emerson Hyndman has told The Scottish Sun that he spoke to Gedion Zelalem before making his move to Ibrox.
Hyndman, 20, was highly rated at Fulham, scoring once in 27 games last season before leaving upon the expiration of his contract last summer, when Bournemouth swooped to sign him.

The central midfielder, who already has two caps for the United States national team, was a signing for the future for Bournemouth, and it has shown this season, given that he has started just once in all competitions for the Cherries.
With the likes of Jack Wilshere, Harry Arter and Andrew Surman ahead of him in the pecking order, Hyndman has now decided to go out on loan, penning a deal with Rangers until the end of the season.
Hyndman will be looking to make a real impact at Ibrox over the coming months, and came on as a substitute during Sunday’s 4-0 friendly defeat to Bundesliga side Leipzig for his debut.

Hyndman is far from the first American to join Rangers, and he has now revealed that he spoke to one fellow American who turned out for the Gers in recent times before making the move to Glasgow.
Gedion Zelalem spent last season on loan at Rangers from Arsenal, making 28 appearances for the club before returning to the Emirates Stadium, and he’s played alongside Hyndman for the United States Under-23’s.
Speaking to The Scottish Sun, Hyndman has revealed that he spoke to Zelalem before making the move, and the Arsenal teenager told him that he really enjoyed his time at Ibrox and spoke highly of manager Mark Warburton, which helped push Hyndman towards joining Rangers.
“I also got Gedion’s opinion when I heard Rangers were interested in me,” said Hyndman. “He said he really enjoyed his time at the club. He loved the manager, players and stadium. Gedion relished being here and he really pushed me towards coming to Rangers,” he added.
