Glasgow Rangers will come up against Emerson Hyndman in their next game nearly two years after he joined the Ibrox side on loan.

In comments reported by Edinburgh Live, Emerson Hyndman insisted that he enjoyed his spell at Rangers as he prepares to come up against Steven Gerrard’s side, but admitted that he is not sure what kind of reception he will get from the Gers fans on Wednesday.
Hyndman spent a few months on loan at Ibrox a couple of years ago. He scored four goals in 13 Scottish Premiership appearances for the Gers, and was arguably one of their most impressive performers during his time with the club.
He is now on loan at Premiership rivals Hibernian and will face Rangers for the first time when Gerrard brings his side to Easter Road on Wednesday. And ahead of the game, he discussed how he expects the away fans to respond to him.
“I can’t tell the Rangers fans what to do,” he said, as reported by Edinburgh Live. “I’m up for anything. But obviously I enjoyed my time there and I don’t have any hard feelings towards them at all. I really enjoyed the support when I was there.

“But football’s football, you go where you have to go. When I joined Hibs I was delighted. Whatever the Rangers fans want to do is up to them – but there are no hard feelings from me.”
While Rangers’ squad seems to have improved significantly since Hyndman’s previous spell, there would probably be some members of the Ibrox faithful who would quite happily see Gerrard target the USA international in January when his loan ends.

Ovie Ejaria’s premature exit has left Rangers with a void to fill in the middle of the park, and the 22-year-old would be a very decent option to consider – especially after his impressive performance against Celtic at the weekend.
But while some may be keen for the Gers target Hyndman again, they will certainly be hoping that he endures a very quiet evening when the two teams meet as he is one of the players who could prove destructive if given an opportunity to shine.
