Rangers midfielder Emerson Hyndman has told ESPN that there is no extra pressure on him and his teammates.

The Gers are third in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 43 points from 25 matches.

The Ibrox outfit are six points behind second-placed Aberdeen, and as many as 30 points behind leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic.

Hyndman, who is 20 years of age and joined Rangers on loan from Premier League club Bournemouth in the January transfer window, has told that he and his teammates do not feel like they are under any extra pressure.

“I wouldn’t say pressure,” the USA international midfielder told ESPN. “There is always pressure so it’s not more or less, it has always been the same. The fans are very close to us as a team and we want to impress them.”

Hyndman’s comments could come as a surprise to the Rangers fans. After all, finishing second now is an absolute must for the Gers.

While Celtic have the best squad in Scotland and are understandably running away with the Scottish Premiership title this season, Rangers should be finishing at least in the runners-up spot.

The Rangers players, including Hyndman, should feel extra pressure, as finishing third in the league this season would be a massive disappointment.

The Gers will return to action on Friday evening when they take on Inverness Caledonian Thistle away from home at the Tulloch Caledonian Stadium in the Scottish Premiership.
