Should Leeds consider any of these free agent strikers?
Leeds United received a devastating blow this week when it was announced new signing Tyler Roberts faces an ‘extended spell’ on the sidelines after picking up an injury.
The Whites are left depending on Caleb Ekuban as back-up to Pierre-Michel Lasogga, but he has been injury prone too and Leeds fans are sceptical he can last and make the difference and save their hopes of promotion.
So could they bring in any help? There are still some experienced free agent strikers on the market for various reasons, and Leeds might want to considering signing one of them.
Here is a look at three possible options…
Victor Anichebe
Former Everton striker Victor Anichebe is a free agent after his contract in the Chinese Super League came to an early end last month.
Anichebe was playing in the Premier League last season with Sunderland, and the Sunderland Echo report he is being eyed up by Bolton.
The 29-year-old once cost West Brom £6 million and he is keen to find a new club. A move to the Championship would be a good fit.
Tony Watt
Former Celtic youngster Tony Watt is famous for scoring a winner against Barcelona in the Champions League.
His career has not lived up to this high mark since, and he currently finds himself without a club.
He was recently playing with Belgian side OH Leuven but is now a free agent and at just 24 could still have plenty to offer.
Marouane Chamakh
Former Morocco international striker Marouane Chamakh once set a Champions League record for scoring in six consecutive games.
He was recently being considered by Bolton for a move, with his last spell in English football coming with Cardiff City under Neil Warnock.
