Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos says it’s ’embarrassing’ that Liverpool and Chelsea transfer target Gabri Veiga is moving to Saudi Arabia.
Fabrizio Romano reported on Instagram his trademark ‘Here We Go’ to the Celta de Vigo star, Gabri Veiga, agreeing to join Saudi Pro League side, Al-Ahli.
This is despite a host of clubs across Europe, including Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea and Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool wanting to sign the highly-rated 21-year-old this summer.
Last season, for a struggling Celta side that survived on the final day of the La Liga season, Veiga scored 11 goals and supplied four assists for his boyhood club – that’s why he has been dubbed ‘spectacular’ by Spain U21 boss, Santi Denia.
When the season was up, many thought that the rising Spanish star would make a big move to one of Europe’s big boys, with the likes of Liverpool, Chelsea and Treble-winning Manchester City, all keen on the player.
But, despite that, Veiga has decided to head to the Middle East and to the ever-growing Saudi Pro League, with Real Madrid’s Toni Kroos offering his one-word response to it all.

Veiga would have been perfect for Liverpool
If Veiga decides to head to Saudi, then it showcases the growing power of the league and what they want to do during these coming years.
But, as of this moment, they aren’t competitive enough for a player like Veiga to play in because it might harm his chances of earning that first senior call-up for Spain.
A team like Liverpool and a manager like Jurgen Klopp would have been perfect for the versatile midfielder, but he is in charge of his own career.
