Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after spotting what the club put on their official website recently.
With the Carabao Cup final against Manchester City on the horizon, Tottenham decided to sell a range of merchandise for the showpiece event.
That’s always risky to do, as nobody will want to buy, or wear, clothing associated with a defeat.
However, what’s even riskier is selling merchandise claiming Tottenham to be the winners of the 2021 Carabao Cup.
That’s exactly what supporters saw on the website – believe it or not.
Yep. Tottenham actually decided to sell a t-shirt with ‘Carabao Cup 2021 Winners’ written across the front, with a cockerel in the centre.
Some doubted if it was real or not. Well, you only need to type ‘Spurs Adult Carabao Cup Winners T-Shirt’ into Google, and a link appears.
Unsurprisingly, the link takes you nowhere other than to the rest of the club’s items up for sale, as it’s clearly now been deleted from the site.
We just can’t understand why clubs sell this kind of merchandise.

By all means, sell it once the trophy has been won, but to make these items before the game has even kicked off is simply baffling.
Sadly, Tottenham’s wait for a trophy goes on. Not since 2008 have the north Londoners won a piece of silverware, despite being in numerous finals since then.
However, after José Mourinho was finally sacked, the future looks bright for Spurs – there’s plenty to be positive about.

Tottenham have a fantastic squad full of top-class players, as well as what is arguably Europe’s best stadium.
Find the right manager to gel the players together, and the north Londoners will be looking in good shape.
Let’s see how the Tottenham fans on Twitter reacted to what they saw on the club’s official website…
