Samsung have made a boo-boo in their attempts to pay tribute to Claude Makelele.
He was at Chelsea for five years before leaving for PSG in 2008 and racked up an impressive 217 appearances for the club and is still considered a legend by the Chelsea faithful.
And the club’s sponsors Samsung were hoping to pay tribute to the star on his anniversary today so posted a message on Facebook reminding fans of this special day in the club’s history.
It was a nice touch from their long-term sponsors, except for one thing – the picture they attached to the story was one of Geremi.
The Cameroonian was certainly not as impressive during his time at Chelsea as Makelele – leaving the club for Newcastle United in 2007 after failing to cement a first-team place in his four years at Chelsea.
So getting the two mixed up was certainly something of an embarrassing mistake.
Maybe it is for the best that Samsung’s sponsorship deal with the club comes to an end next summer.
