Rangers continue to be linked with bringing Martin Skrtel to Ibrox.

Glasgow Rangers are maintaining an interest in defender Martin Skrtel, report CNN Turkey.
Skrtel plays for Fenerbahce and is out of contract at the end of the season.
This certainly works in Rangers’ favour, along with the fact he used to play with Gers boss Steven Gerrard at Liverpool.
The biggest development over the last few months is Fenerbahce’s wretched league form.
Last season Fenerbahce finished in second place in the Turkish Super Lig. This season they sit in an embarrassing 13th position.
They have only three wins from 12 matches and are just one point above the relegation zone.
Skrtel must shoulder his share of the blame. He has started 10 league games.

He turns 34 next month and he is declining rather than improving.
The only plus side to Fenerbahce’s season is that they sit in second place in their Europa League group, four points clear of third, and look set to reach the next round.
If they go through and Rangers do not, then Skrtel may be less inclined to rush into a transfer.
Really that would not be such a bad thing. Rangers need younger players who have resale potential. Skrtel does not, and Fenerbahce’s overall form this season should be a red flag.
