Arsenal fans have taken to Twitter to react after hearing what Ezgjan Alioski said about Nicolas Pepe ahead of the clash with Leeds this Sunday.

Speaking on The Official Leeds United Podcast, Patrick Bamford said: “Do you know what? He (Alioski) said in the changing room, I can’t wait for Sunday. I was like ‘why?’. He said ‘because I’m playing against my mate Pepe again’.”

Of course, the Macedonia international is referencing the incident between himself and the 24-cap Ivory Coast international earlier this season.

During the 0-0 draw at Elland Road in November, the £72 million man was sent off after being caught head-butting the Leeds No.10 in an off-the-ball clash.

VAR spotted the offence, and Pepe was hit with a three-game ban.

Alioski clearly hasn’t forgotten about the clash, and it will be interesting to see if anything happens between the pair at the Emirates Stadium.

While the Macedonian is a cheeky figure and enjoys a joke, the Arsenal fans on Twitter seem to have taken offence to his comments.

One supporter said that they hope Arsenal absolutely obliterate Marcelo Bielsa’s men this weekend.

Another described Alioski’s comments as ‘cringe’ – his words were also called ‘savage’ by another fan.

In our view, the Macedonian was just having a bit of fun.

However, his words have certainly added a bit of edge to Sunday’s clash in north London.

Let’s see what the Arsenal fans on Twitter have been saying about Alioski’s comments…
