Leeds United fans are desperate to re-sign Swansea City’s Kyle Bartley.

Swansea City defender Kyle Bartley was an opinion splitting figure on Sunday afternoon as his side slumped to a 5-0 defeat away to Manchester City.

Bartley came on as a second half substitute in the defeat, and could not change the one-sided match.

The centre-back was on loan at Leeds United in the Championship last season where he impressed so much that the Swans wanted to hang onto him.

Leeds have struggled defensively in his absence, and just the sight of him was enough to have supporters lamenting his absence and wishing for his return.

Swansea City fans on the other hand, were not so kind towards Bartley, and do not hold him in the same high regard.

Supporters of the Welsh side hit out at the decision to bring Bartley on, and hand him the captain’s armband, believing he is simply not good enough for the Premier League side.

It is unclear what Bartley’s intentions are this summer, but if he wants to play where he is appreciated and revered, then a switch to Leeds would be smart, providing he is willing to drop down into the Championship again.

Leeds have not yet made any moves to re-sign him, and they could face competition from former boss Garry Monk who is now at Birmingham City.

Swansea should just about hold onto their Premier League status for next season despite the heavy defeat to Manchester City, with Stoke and Southampton most likely to go down along with West Brom.
