It’s fair to say that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane wound up the Fulham supporters with his display last night.
Kane did not get on the scoresheet for Tottenham, despite having two presentable chances during their 1-0 win at Craven Cottage.
And it wasn’t Kane’s brilliance which caused annoyance among the Fulham fans.
The Tottenham striker actually frustrated the Cottagers’ support, due to his tendency to go down.
Kane went to ground looking for a penalty in the first-half, which was reviewed by VAR
The England captain appeared to have been placed through on goal by Tanguy Ndombele, but he went down under a challenge on Ola Aina.
Replays proved fairly inconclusive, but there did not appear to be a great deal of contact.
Kane decided to go to ground, as he tried to win Spurs a penalty – but his appeals were turned down first by the referee and then by VAR.
Unfortunately for Kane his actions did not endear himself to the Fulham support either.
And many of their fans were very annoyed with the Tottenham star during and after the game.
Kane is unlikely to be too perturbed by the reaction to his latest display.
The Tottenham striker has become used to criticism, and his display helped Jose Mourinho’s men to a vital three points yesterday, as they chase a top four spot.
