Ellis Simms is starring for Everton’s Under-18’s this season.

Everton won last time out, beating Chelsea 2-0 before the international break – meaning there’s still an outside shot of a European finish this term.

The Toffees sit four points adrift of seventh place with seven games to play, meaning there’s a chance of a late run for a Europa League push.

With Cenk Tosun having little future at the club, Dominic Calvert-Lewin will be called upon to lead the line – but another Everton striker is pushing for playing time.

Teenager Ellis Simms has been in blistering form this season, and was devastating again last weekend, scoring a hat-trick against Wolverhampton Wanderers Under-18’s.

That’s now a staggering record of 41 goals in 33 games this season for Simms, who is really pushing for first-team football before the end of the campaign.

Everton aren’t exactly blessed with strikers that have long-term futures at Goodison Park, so giving Simms some minutes before the season ends may be a smart move.

The 18-year-old’s unbelievable form is now forcing Marco Silva to consider him for playing time, and a Toffees debut is well within sight, even if Everton shouldn’t pile too much pressure on their teenage talent.

Simms should at least be in the pre-season plans for Everton, giving him a chance to step up to the first time just like Jonjoe Kenny and Tom Davies have.
