Some Liverpool fans on Twitter are excited by the prospect of tying Gini Wijnaldum down to a new deal.
The combative Liverpool midfielder is only contracted to the Anfield club until 2021.
Wijnaldum, who joined the Reds from Newcastle United back in 2016, has emerged as a key player for Jurgen Klopp over the past couple of years, and scored twice in that famous Champions League win over Barcelona last season.
According to a report from Fabrizio Romano in The Guardian, the Merseyside club and Wijnaldum have already held ‘positive talks’ with regards to signing a new deal.

Liverpool have had 29 Premier League games this season and the Dutchman has started 28 of them, which underlines his status as a mainstay for the German manager and it’ll be an excellent boost if Klopp ties him down to a new deal.
