Elena Rybakina is in red-hot form.

The Kazakhstani star has won 13 consecutive matches on the WTA Tour dating back to October 2025.

Most recently, the 26-year-old defeated former world number two Paula Badosa in the Brisbane International round of 16.

Rybakina, the world number five, will face 11th seed Karolina Muchova in the quarter-finals.

It is fair to say that Rybakina is most certainly enjoying her time on the Tour, and in a recent interview with the WTA, the 26-year-old revealed her favourite thing about being a professional tennis player.

Elena Rybakina loves having the opportunity to experience different cultures

Elite tennis players have a multitude of reasons to be happy about their profession.

Whether it be the financial incentives, opportunities to travel, or the physical benefits; being a professional tennis player certainly has its perks.

Elena Rybakina is one of those fortunate individuals who benefits from these perks.

In an interview with the WTA, Rybakina said: “My favourite thing [about] being a tennis player is that we get opportunity to meet different people, different cultures, experience a lot of different things while we’re on the road.”

Should Rybakina defeat Muchova in Friday’s quarter-final, she will face Aryna Sabalenka or Madison Keys in the last four.

Sabalenka will most certainly be motivated to play Rybakina should that match transpire; Rybakina defeated Sabalenka in the 2025 WTA Finals.

Elena Rybakina reveals her favourite celebration meal

In the same WTA interview, Rybakina revealed the food of her choice when celebrating.

It seems a professional athlete’s favourite guilty treats are the same as those of any other person.

Rybakina said: “My favourite celebration meal is pizza and a lot of sweets… chocolates, ice cream.”

Rybakina also revealed what she would tell her younger self.

“To my younger self I would say keep on dealing, believing more in yourself, and enjoying the process,” she said.
