Just as I expected, Daniel Farke’s Leeds United beat Millwall at Elland Road in the Championship on Sunday.

Leeds United are aiming to finish in the top two of the Championship table this season.

The West Yorkshire club have been in great form lately, and they continued that on Sunday with a 2-0 win against Millwall at Elland Road.

Wilfried Gnonto, who could have left in the January transfer window, put Leeds in the lead in the 33rd minute, and Daniel James added a second on 79 minutes. Georginio Rutter, who is rated highly by opponents, provided the assists.

Praise for Leeds United winger Crysencio Summerville vs Millwall

Former Leeds defender Leigh Bromby was following the match, and he was impressed by how Crysencio Summerville played for the Whites.

The £1.5 million (The Yorkshire Evening Post) winger started on the left of a three-man attacking midfield in a 4-2-3-1 formation.

The 22-year-old played for 74 minutes. The winger took five shots of which two were on target, played five key passes, had a pass accuracy of 89.2%, took 69 touches, attempted three dribbles, made one tackle, and put in 12 crosses.

Bromby said on BBC Radio Leeds in the second half after Georginio Rutter failed to take a chance: “What a move! It’s electric down this left-hand side for Leeds. Crysencio Summerville is doing exactly what he wants to do.

“Georginio Rutter – I’m not sure if he had a bad connection but you’re looking at that thinking he has to score those ones.”

Big win for Leeds United

Millwall have been in good form lately. They headed into the match against Leeds having won three of their previous four Championship games.

Leeds, though, did not find them that tough to get past. I think that Daniel Farke’s side were the better team and deservedly picked up all three points from the encounter.

The Whites are now at the top of the Championship table with 82 points from 38 matches, level on points with Leicester City, who have played 37 games.
