Burnley’s Jon Walters is available for a move and is admired by Cardiff City boss Neil Warnock.

Cardiff City will be looking for reinforcements after winning promotion to the Premier League and a player who manager Neil Warnock greatly admires has just confirmed his availability.
Jon Walters admitted he does not see himself in Burnley’s plans for next season, and wants to get back playing again after a difficult year.
He told The Irish Mirror: “I think if I wanted to move on, I don’t think that’s an issue club-wise.”
Walters had a difficult season after joining from Stoke City, picking up an injury early on and then finding it difficult to nail down a spot amid competition from Chris Wood, Sam Vokes, Ashley Barnes and Nakhi Wells for forward positions.

Burnley would not be looking for much money after paying just £3 million for him a year ago, a deal Paul Merson described as one of the best transfers of the summer [via SkySports].
Walters, 34, is a player who could appeal to Cardiff boss Neil Warnock, who realises the value of having experienced Premier League players in his side.
He is a player who Warnock tried and failed to sign at least once before, with the manager admitted his disappointment at not bringing him to QPR back in 2010.

He was quoted by SkySports: “Jonathan could have played up front or on the right and now I’ve got to look for two different players for the same role.”
Walters may be into the latter stages of his career, but he is rested up after this past season and has a point to prove.
As a cheap signing this is one which could appeal to Warnock and we would not be surprised to see it happen.
