Tony Xia has commented on Aston Villa’s January transfer window plans.
Aston Villa owner Tony Xia has taken to Twitter to claim that the club are targeting up to eight players, and hope to sign half of them.
Villa currently sit seven points adrift of the Championship play-off places, and manager Steve Bruce will need new additions to help close the gap to the top six.

Bruce made his first signing as Villa boss last week as Manchester United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone joined the club on loan until the end of the season, but Villa still need plenty more if they’re to make the play-offs.
HITC Sport understand that Nottingham Forest playmaker Henri Lansbury is on the verge of joining Villa and could undergo a medical imminently, whilst The Guardian claim that Villa will lodge a £12million bid for Leicester City winger Jeffrey Schlupp this week.

With money to spend, Villa should be active this month, and players may well be tempted by a move to Villa Park given that Bruce’s men are one of the biggest clubs in the Championship, and harbour ambitions of a return to the Premier League.
Now, Villa owner Tony Xia has taken to Twitter this afternoon to send a message to supporters, offering an update on the club’s plans for the January transfer window.
Xia claims that Villa are ‘working hard every day’ to bring new players to the club, with work ongoing over seven to eight potential targets.
Xia noted that Villa are unlikely to land all of them, but getting three would be a decent result, and landing four would be great as Villa chase a play-off spot.
