Leeds United have a potential gem in the form of Egzjan Alioski.
Egzjan Alioski is loving life under Leeds United boss Thomas Christiansen.
The 25-year-old joined the Whites in a £3.2 million move from Lugano in the summer and has been an instant hit with fans at Elland Road due to his attacking qualities and skill.
It should be no surprise then that the Macedonia international is a big fan of the ball, and Alioski revealed in a press conference that his favourite thing about playing under Christiansen – a former striker – is the Spaniard’s training drills with the ball.
Asked what he likes most about the 44-year-ols’s methods: “How he works with his staff. I enjoy it. We do so many excercises with the ball that it’s nice and we train many times with the ball.”
Adapting to a new city can be daunting for many foreign players, and Alioski – who had never played in an English-speaking country before – went on to reveal that he has a number of people helping him to settle into life at Leeds on and off the field.
His entire professional career had been based in Switzerland prior to this summer, and the former Young Boys product reveals that Swiss defender Gaetano Berardi is among those helping adapt.
Asked who they were, he responsded: “Mostly Gaetano Berardi or Pontus [Jansson] tell me which restaurants are good, telling me where to go, but yeah they help me.”
Leeds visit Millwall in the Championship today as Christiansen’s side bid to preserve their spot at the summit of the table.
