The former Northern Ireland international midfielder was appointed in the role until the end of the season.
This is Lennon’s second spell in charge of the Hoops, and he has already guided the Glasgow giants to the Scottish Premiership title this season.
Derby and Nigeria international defender Ambrose, who worked with Lennon at Celtic and Hibernian, believes that the Hoops should give the managerial role to Lennon.
Ambrose told The Scottish Sun: “The board will make the right decision, but Celtic and Neil Lennon are made for each other. For me, he is the perfect man to replace Brendan Rodgers as manager and take Celtic forward.
“Neil is a top coach. He has the winning mentality you need at Celtic, he loves the club and knows everything about succeeding there.
“If the board give him the chance to be the permanent manager again, they will not regret it.”
Permanent role
Lennon is a safe fair of hands, and if Celtic win the Scottish Cup this season, then it will only strengthened his claim for the permanent managerial role.
However, it does make sense for the Hoops to keep their options open, especially if they want to make an impact in the Champions League.
