Efe Ambrose has been with Celtic for five years, but appears to have no future now Brendan Rodgers is in charge.
Efe Ambrose has told the Capital City Press that he could leave Celtic at the end of the season.
Ambrose appears to have little future at Celtic, with Brendan Rodgers deciding to loan the centre-back out to Hibernian earlier this season.
Ambrose has helped Hibs earn promotion from the Scottish Championship this season.
And the Nigerian international has hinted that he could move to Hibs on a permanent deal in the summer.
“The manager wants me to stay but it’s not up to me. We will see what the future holds. My agent will speak to the club and you never know what is going to happen,” Ambrose said.
“Of course I would consider staying with Hibs because the fans showed me love and I enjoy working for the manager who signed me for Celtic and then brought me to Hibs – so if it comes my way again then it will be hard to turn it down.
“I will go back to Celtic to consider things and from there you never know what is going to happen.”
Ambrose does not appear to have a future, as so many Celtic players have moved ahead of him in the pecking order.
The Bhoys already have the likes of Erik Sviatchenko, Jozo Simunovic and Dedryck Boyata competing for a place in the heart of their defence and could target more defenders in the summer transfer window.
If Ambrose does leave Celtic it will bring to an end a five year stay with the Glasgow club, where he has made 168 appearances for the Bhoys.
