Liverpool fans have praised Michael Edwards for negotiating a sell-on clause with Southampton on Danny Ings.
Sky Sports have reported that Manchester City are interested in Ings, and that could actually help to fund Liverpool’s summer spending plans.
The Liverpool Echo say that Jurgen Klopp’s side will receive 20% of any fee that Southampton receive for Ings.
With the striker showing good form in the league, City are likely to have to pay a sizeable fee for the England international.
And Liverpool fans feel that Edwards has once again shown great foresight by putting in such a clause.
Liverpool are thought to need to raise funds, as Klopp will surely want to freshen his side up in the summer.
The Reds have shown signs of fatigue this term, with an injection of quality likely to be chased in the summer.
And if Liverpool’s biggest title rivals now can help to fund their potential purchases then it will feel like a big win for the Reds.
