It’s harsh to call Takumi Minamino a ‘flop’ but at the moment, it just isn’t working out at Liverpool.

The Japan international joined the Reds from Salzburg a little over a year ago for £7.2 million.

But by virtue of the fact that Liverpool loaned him to Southampton in January, you could argue that already the 26-year-old’s future at Anfield looks grim.

At least, that’s what La Razon are reporting.

The Spanish publication claim that Minamino has ‘no place’ on Merseyside any longer and that Sevilla are ready to make an £8.6 million offer this summer.

Should Liverpool sell?

Well, not to Sevilla if that’s what their offer is.

We’re talking about a 26-year-old whose contract doesn’t expire at Liverpool until 2024.

Bear in mind that with a couple of goals for the Saints – including against Chelsea – he is already impressing out on loan.

In other words, he could be worth significantly more than £8.6 million and if Southampton stay in the Premier League, and want to sign him long term, then rest assured they’ll be offering more than that.
