Some Liverpool fans on Twitter have reiterated their desire to see David Alaba join the club.

The Bayern Munich defender was among the heroes on Saturday as the German giants beat Borussia Dortmund 3-2 at Signal Iduna Park.

Alaba, who is said to be on Liverpool’s radar [AS], curled home a beautiful free kick on the stroke of half time to cancel out Marco Reus’s earlier opener.

The 28-year-old won the treble with Bayern last season but with his contract up next summer, Reds boss Jurgen Klopp is reportedly among those keen on taking the Austria international to Anfield.

Here’s how some Liverpool fans reacted to his goal on Saturday:

Alaba can play anywhere across the back four but with Klopp needing a centre-back, perhaps this move makes even more sense for the Premier League champions.

Virgil van Dijk will be out of commission until next season at the earliest and Liverpool will probably need to replace him in January.

Whether Klopp and Michael Edwards try to engineer a cut-price move for Alaba in a couple of months instead of the summer remains to be seen, but perhaps they could tempt Bayern in the same way as they did with Thiago in September.
