Glasgow Rangers forward Eduardo Herrera wants to remain at Ibrox.
According to The Daily Record, Rangers had to pay UNAM a transfer fee of £1.5 million in order to secure the services of the 29-year-old forward in the summer of 2017.
Much was expected of the Mexico international when he arrived at Ibrox in the summer of 2017, but the former Pumas Morelos man has failed to make an impact for the Scottish Premiership giants.
As reported by The Daily Record, Herrera, who was signed by then Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha, has scored just twice in 22 appearances for the Gers so far this season.
The Scottish Sun reportedly earlier this month that the Mexican forward is among a number of players the Gers want to offload in the January transfer window.
Rangers forward Herrera, though, has stated that he wants to remain at the Glasgow giants for the foreseeable future.
The Daily Record quotes Herrera as saying: “Any player is excited to be called to the national team, but first comes first and I must win a place at Rangers. I have the opportunity to be there (Ibrox) and it is an incomparable feeling.
“One of the dreams is to play in Europe and I’m living it, but for now I do not think about that (a return to Liga MX). I signed for three years with Rangers and I’m still two and a half years to go.”
