The 28-year-old becomes Pedro Caixinha’s eighth Ibrox recruit since taking the Rangers position in March.

Mexican striker Eduardo Herrera has posted his first message to Rangers supporters after completing his move to Ibrox on Thursday.

Herrera, whose arrival was confirmed a minute after that of international teammate Carlos Pena, followed the midfielder in signing a three-year deal with the Scottish giants.

And the former UNAM Pumas player wasted little time introducing himself to the Rangers faithful.

He wrote:

Herrera and Pena, who leaves Chivas Guadalajara, are Rangers’ seventh and eighth new signings of a productive summer so far, following Portuguese quartet Bruno Alves, Fabio Cardoso, Dalcio and Daniel Candeias, Colombian striker Alfredo Morelos and Ryan Jack, the former Aberdeen captain.

Ibrox boss Pedro Caixinha worked with Herrera previously at Santos Laguna.

Rangers’ first competitive fixture of the 2017-18 takes place next Wednesday when Luxembourg’s Progres Niederkorn visit Ibrox for the first leg of their Europa League first qualifying round tie.

And it was reported earlier this week that both Herrera and Pena have already been registered to play in that fixture, with one ‘wildcard’ spot still up for grabs.
