Arsenal slumped to a third defeat in their last four Premier League games on Sunday night, losing 1-0 at home to Leicester City.
The Gunners fell to a Jamie Vardy goal, and fans were left frustrated with what was a pretty uninspiring performance going forward.
Arsenal struggled for creativity throughout; they only recorded 10 key passes during the game, with Dani Ceballos the only one to register more than two key passes.
Fans are now worried that Arsenal won’t be able to break teams down, having focused on signing a more combative midfielder in Thomas Partey rather than a replacement for Mesut Ozil, who has been exiled from the squad.
Just a day earlier, Arsenal were given a reminder of one of their recent transfer mistakes, as Christopher Nkunku enjoyed a superb outing in RB Leipzig’s 2-1 home win over Hertha Berlin.
The Frenchman racked up an astonishing seven key passes on his own, creating chance after chance whilst also having five shots on his own and completing two dribbles.
The 22-year-old played high up on the left flank, but drifted infield to open up room for attacking left back Angelino, and he also has experience playing as a central midfielder or number 10.
Unai Emery wanted Nkunku at Arsenal in 2019 having worked together at Paris Saint-Germain, but Onefootball reported that Arsenal were told to pay just €15million (£13.5million), which they didn’t do – and Leipzig swooped in to land him.

Emery didn’t get his man, and Arsenal certainly won’t get Nkunku for a similar price now, having shown the creative ability to be a star in Julian Nagelsmann’s exciting Leipzig side.
Technical director Edu should still have Nkunku on his radar though, as Arsenal are in desperate need of a midfielder who can get on the ball and open up defences in the final third.
Nkunku is showing that he can do just that, and whilst Emery has moved on, Arsenal cannot ignore the Leipzig star’s numbers whilst they struggle for guile in attack.
