Some Arsenal fans on social media have been reacting after Flamengo’s financial accounts shared just how much they paid to sign Pablo Mari last summer.

The defender joined for an undisclosed fee in the summer, with some outlets reporting the figure to be as high as £14m, but the reality is that Arsenal paid a lot less than that.

Flamengo’s accounts reveal that Arsenal actually paid just £6.8m to sign the defender in the summer, and at that price, you’d have to say they got a good deal.

Mari hasn’t been a revelation at Arsenal, but he’s been a consistently solid performer who has added a lot to the heart of the Gunners’ defence.

At just under £7m, you can’t complain at a deal like that, and Arsenal fans were certainly more than happy with that fee.

One fan hailed this as a masterclass from Edu, while others labelled the move as a bargain.

Here’s what Gunners supporters have been saying on social media…
