The main headline on deadline day was the arrival of Jorginho from Chelsea, but there was also a notable outgoing at the Emirates.

Indeed, Albert Sambi Lokonga left Arsenal to join Crystal Palace on loan, and in our view, this is a genius move from Edu.

This is down to the fact that Patrick Vieira is the current manager of the Eagles.

This loan move to Crystal Palace, where Vieira is head coach, is a touch of genius by Arsenal.

By sending Lokonga to work with Vieira, they’re giving him the opportunity to learn from one of the best in history in his position.

There literally may not be a man on planet earth who knows more about what it takes to be a star midfielder for Arsenal than Patrick Vieira.

The Frenchman was, of course, the club’s captain during their most successful period under Arsene Wenger, and he has so much wisdom to pass onto Lokonga.

Getting to work under Vieira while striving to be an Arsenal midfielder is a dream. It’s like studying for a degree in physics and getting a placement with Professor Brian Cox – Vieira is the number one expert in this field.

Vieira’s expertise and experience will help to bring out the best in Lokonga and develop him into the player that he has the potential to be.

At just 22 years old, Lokonga has already shown glimpses of his ability and has a bright future ahead of him. But, like all young players, he still has a lot to learn and that’s where Vieira comes in.

His tutelage and guidance will help to fine-tune Lokonga’s skills and improve his understanding of the game. Vieira’s knowledge of the Premier League, having played for some of the biggest clubs in the division, will also be invaluable for Lokonga.

Working with a manager like Vieira will only benefit Lokonga, and it’s a great opportunity for the young midfielder to develop both on and off the pitch. Vieira’s experience of playing at the highest level, combined with his tactical knowledge, will give Lokonga the best possible chance to improve and fulfill his potential.

Sending Lokonga to Palace is a stroke of genius by Edu that isn’t getting enough credit.
