Speaking in his pre-match press conference, Mikel Arteta has been discussing the contract situations of three of his most important young players.
The Gunners boss was asked about the contracts of William Saliba, Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli, and the manager reassured fans that new contracts for these three are being worked on.
This trio are undoubtedly three of Arsenal’s most important and most valuable players right now, so it is imperative that their futures at the Emirates are secured.
Arteta gave an exciting update, stating that Edu is working on thrashing out the details of these new contracts.

New contracts are being sorted
Arteta confirmed that Arsenal are working on new deals for these players.
“Obviously, we have to plan for the future and we are all working on it. Edu is on top of it and all of the board and we’ll try to do things in the right way, being fair, and trying to plan the best possible way and reward the players that in our opinion have a big future for the club. When we have something to announce, we will do that.
Securing the future
If Arsenal can tie Saliba, Saka and Martinelli down to new deals they will be securing a very bright future for themselves.
We’re not exaggerating when we say that these three have the potential to be three of the very best players in the world one day, and if Edu can keep them at the Emirates, success will surely follow.
This new generation Arsenal team has been all about handing out chances and bringing these young players through, but now, it’s about keeping these youngsters into their prime years.
Fingers crossed we get some announcements on these new contracts sooner rather than later.
