Is Philippe Coutinho to Arsenal back on the table? It just might be.
The Brazilian was heavily linked with a move to North London a few months ago, only for the trail to go cold.
Thing is, Coutinho might yet be back on Arsenal’s radar after a report from Mundo Deportivo.
According to the Spanish outlet, the Gunners’ technical director Edu has given his ‘endorsement’ for the Emirates Stadium club to sign the playmaker, who Barcelona want to get rid of permanently.
With Mesut Ozil frozen out of the first-team picture right now, Mikel Arteta might need a quality playmaker this summer.
And suffice to say Arsenal fans on Twitter are desperate for this to happen. Here’s how they reacted to the idea of signing the 28-year-old former Liverpool hero.
Even if they keep Ozil, what a signing this would be for Arsenal.
At this stage, Arteta must know that he’s never going to be able to rely on the former Germany international, so signing a more reliable number 10 is a smart move.
Whether that number 10 is Coutinho or not, however, remains to be seen.
