Arsenal fans have reacted to the rumours of how much they could sell Matteo Guendouzi for this summer.
French outlet Le10 Sport have claimed that Arsenal’s discarded midfielder could be heading to Marseille for as little as £10 million.
On paper, Arsenal would be making a profit, albeit little one on Guendouzi given that they only paid £8 million (Sky Sports) for his services from France’s second-tier in 2018.
But Arsenal fans are annoyed at what Guendouzi can go on to achieve in his career and how they are then letting him go for such little.
Guendouzi has recently been on loan at German side Hertha Berlin after he fell out of favour with Mikel Arteta at Arsenal.
It’s pretty clear that he has no future in North London, but Arsenal fans aren’t happy that he could be heading for the exit door with so much potential in his boots.
Things aren’t exactly rosy in Arsenal’s garden, so when fans see signs of potential, and it slipping away from them, then they are going to be that more frustrated and angry at what they are reading.
If Guendouzi does go onto have a stellar career then it won’t look well on Arteta, Edu or anyone else in the Arsenal boardroom.
This will be an interesting one to follow in the coming years because something suggests it might just come back to bite a few on the back.
