Everton reportedly want Liverpool’s Divock Origi, but the Toffees should look at former Manchester City forward Edin Dzeko instead.

According to ESPN FC, Everton are interested in signing Divock Origi from Liverpool in the January transfer window, as the Toffees plan to sign a striker, but Marco Silva’s side would be better off looking at former Manchester City star Edin Dzeko instead.
True, Origi is only 23 years of age, and although the Belgium international has struggled for playing time at Liverpool, that is mainly due to the competition for places in manager Jurgen Klopp’s lineup.
However, what Everton need right now is a proven goalscorer, and Dzeko – now at Italian club AS Roma – is just that.
During his time at City, the Bosnia and Herzegovina international forward won the Premier League title twice, the FA Cup and the League Cup once each, and scored 50 goals in 130 league appearances despite not starting regularly.

The 32-year-old forward – who is valued at €53.2 million (£46.76m) by CIES Football Observatory – recently suggested that he is open to returning to the Premier League, as quoted in The Sun, and Everton should look into the possibility of bringing him to Goodison Park.
