While Dzeko remains unfairly underrated in English football, every man and his dog is aware of Manchester City star David Silva’s supreme talents.

Former Manchester City striker Edin Dzeko has told Roma’s official website that the ‘little magician’ David Silva is the greatest player he has ever had the pleasure to line up alongside.

The Bosnian international has shared a pitch with some truly outstanding talents during spells at City and current club Roma, with Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and Francesco Totti all displaying their mercurial talents to the benefit of Dzeko’s goal tally.

However, the 30-year-old, currently enjoying the most impressive form of his career with 10 strikes in his last 10 Serie A starts, says Silva stands head and shoulders above any of his other team-mates past or present – metaphorically speaking, that is.

“I have played with so many good players but probably the best I’ve played with is David Silva,” Dzeko’s told Roma’s website.

“I used to call him ‘little magician’ because this guy was brilliant with his feet, he could take any ball you gave him, control it, and pass it on.

“All of us were always amazed by his ability and technique. He is definitely the best I’ve played with.”

Silva crafted one of the most sublime assists in Premier League history to glaze the cherry on City’s famous 6-1 battering of Manchester United at Old Trafford in 2011, threading the ball through the eye of a needle with a delicious drilled volley to put Dzeko one-on-one with David de Gea in stoppage time.

And five years on, Silva remains an integral part of City’s fluidly-functioning attacking unit under Pep Guardiola.
