Edimilson Fernandes has left West Ham United on a permanent transfer.

Edimilson Fernandes has paid tribute to West Ham United on Instagram.
The Swiss midfielder called time on his three-year spell on West Ham’s books yesterday by signing for Mainz in Germany.
The 23-year-old had two decent seasons in East London, before Manuel Pellegrini loaned him to Fiorentina for the whole 2018-19 campaign last summer.
Despite impressing, it would appear as if the former Sion star – who cost £5.5 million during Slaven Bilic’s reign [The Guardian] – is still unwanted by Pellegrini, who sanctioned his permanent exit.
It was a classy farewell by a player who a lot of West Ham fans were disappointed to see go.
He wasn’t brilliant for the Irons, but he was much better than quite a few players who Pellegrini has elected to keep, prompting a bit of confusion among supporters.
Worse yet, Edimilson is only 23 and will get a lot better in the coming years. This one could come back to bite West Ham in a major way.
