Chelsea winger Eden Hazard comments on the brilliant start Diego Costa has made to his Premier League career.
Diego Costa has been on fire since his £32 million move to Chelsea from Atletico Madrid earlier this summer.
The Spain international striker has scored four goals in three Premier League appearances and has been one of the best players so far this season.
The 25-year-old was signed by Chelsea on the back of a brilliant 2013-14 campaign with Atletico, in which he played a key role in their La Liga triumph and run to the final of the Champions League.
Despite a disappointing performance for Spain at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil earlier this summer, Costa has recovered his form, leading his Chelsea teammate Eden Hazard to sing his praise.
‘We know he can score in big games,’ the club’s official website quotes the Belgium international winger as saying. ‘He had three chances in the game and put two in the net and it is very important for him and for us that he scores.’
Four goals in three games is a brilliant stat indeed, but Costa has been useful to Chelsea defensively and in getting the ball back as well, as shown in the Opta Stats below.
| Goals | Goal Assist | Total Att Assist | Ontarget Scoring Att | Big Chance Scored | Big Chance Missed | Total Tackle | Won Tackle | Apps | Mins | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Diego Costa | 4 | 0 | 6 | 6 | 2 | 1 | 4 | 4 | 3 | 260 |
Costa is a brilliant signing for Chelsea and has certainly enhanced the Blues’ chances of winning the Premier League title this season.
