Leeds United saw Eddie Nketiah score against Salford City.
As far as debuts go, Eddie Nketiah had a pretty good one – and he’s told Four Four Two that he’s confident more goals will come for Leeds United.
Leeds snapped up Arsenal striker Nketiah on deadline day, beating Bristol City to his signature in a season-long loan move to Elland Road.
Nketiah wasn’t considered for the 1-1 draw with Nottingham Forest on Saturday, but was named in the starting line-up to face Salford City last night in the Carabao Cup.
The striker marked his Leeds debut with a goal, tapping home Helder Costa’s first half cross to put Leeds on their way to a confident 3-0 win over the League Two side.
Leeds fans will now hope to see more of Nketiah, possibly as soon as this weekend, when Leeds will be taking on Wigan Athletic at the DW Stadium.
Having made a perfect start to life with the Whites, Nketiah has now commented on his arrival, and how the move hasn’t been too difficult of an adjustment.
The striker noted that he’s coming from a big club already in Arsenal, so he’s used to the pressure of playing for a massive side, so hopes he can thrive on that.
Nketiah added that he is ‘sure’ there will be more goals to come, confidently predicting that he’ll be finding the net during his time with the club.
“It is nice for my confidence,” said Nketiah. “It was good for me but the more important thing was the team getting the win. It was nice to get out there and get into a rhythm and I am sure there will be more to come.”
“I know the history and tradition of the club. I’m coming from Arsenal, so I’m used to being at a big club, but that bit of pressure and expectation, hopefully I can thrive off it and I can continue to do well, work hard and help the team as best as I can,” he added.
