Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe wants to sign Ben Godfrey from Everton in the summer transfer window, according to The Mirror.
The report has claimed that Newcastle looked at signing Godfrey from Premier League rivals Everton in the January transfer window.
Howe remains keen on the 24-year-old central defender, who figures highly on Newcastle’s wanted list.
Newcastle boss Howe is reportedly a big fan of Godfrey, who cost Everton £25 million when they signed him from Norwich City in 2020 (The Mirror) and earns £68,000 per week as salary (Salary Sport).
Newcastle could sign Ben Godfrey from Everton
In our opinion, Newcastle could be able to sign Godfrey from Everton in the summer transfer window.
Everton are having a bad season and could find themselves in the Championship at the end of the campaign.

Even if the Toffees survive, Godfrey could still be tempted to move to a Newcastle team who signed quality players such as Kieran Trippier and Bruno Guimaraes in the January transfer window.
Newcastle have the richest owners in club football in Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), and Godfrey will know that the Magpies are about to venture on a massive project.
