Glasgow Rangers manager Mark Warburton seems to be rated highly by Bournemouth boss Eddie Howe.

Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has suggested to The Scottish Sun that he rates Rangers boss Mark Warburton highly.

Howe faced Warburton in the Championship when the latter was in charge of Brentford.

The former Burnley boss has praised the Rangers manager, who has been in charge of the Gers since the summer of 2015.

“We beat Mark’s Brentford in the Championship and they beat us,” Howe told The Scottish Sun. “It’s very rare when you leave a game and think ‘Wow, they’re a good team and he’s a good manager’. But that’s what I felt.

“After that I studied Brentford closely and Mark. From that point I definitely earmarked him as a manager who would be successful in the future.”

Warburton has done quite a good job at Rangers so far and is certainly a very good manager.

The Englishman guided the Glasgow giants to automatic promotion to the Scottish Premiership from the Scottish Championship at the end of last season.

Rangers are not doing great in the top flight of Scottish football at the moment, but they are certainly in the running for a second-placed finish.

The Gers are third in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 20 points from 12 matches, 11 points behind leaders and Old Firm rivals Celtic, who have a game in hand.

Meanwhile, Bournemouth are currently 13th in the Premier League table with 12 points from 11 matches.

The Cherries are only two points clear of the relegation zone and are in danger of going down to the Championship at the end of the season.
