Everton head into the weekend’s clash at the Hill Dickinson Stadium full of confidence, while Newcastle United arrive still searching for some stability.
David Moyes has a chance to guide Everton to a third straight Premier League win for the first time in almost two years this Saturday.
Everton should benefit from a bit more rest after their match, as Newcastle were in France on Tuesday evening to take on Marseille.
Following their impressive performance against Manchester United on Monday, the Toffees have moved above rivals Liverpool in the league table.
A win on Saturday could see Everton break into the European places, something that has not seemed realistic for them over recent seasons.
However, Eddie Howe has already acknowledged that he knows exactly what kind of threat Everton will pose at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Eddie Howe left so impressed by Everton danger

Alan Stubbs has pointed to a shift in Everton’s mindset following their win at Old Trafford on Monday night.
The Blues have not exactly been prolific in front of goal this season, but certain players have started to look more dangerous in recent weeks.
Speaking to the press on Friday, Howe acknowledged the challenge his team will face against Everton’s wingers.
“He [David Moyes] is a manager I respect. Huge amount of respect for him and the way he handles himself,” told the Newcastle manager.
“He has done an unbelievable job at Everton, they are playing well too and have some dangerous players, especially in the wide areas.”
For instance, Iliman Ndiaye, who has threatened Premier League sides all season, was recently praised effusively by Ruben Amorim.
After a demanding week for Newcastle, the Senegal international is undoubtedly eager to play again before the Africa Cup of Nations.
Newcastle’s travel plans reflect a busy fixture list
The packed holiday fixture list is about to hit, and for clubs juggling European commitments, the schedule looks relentless.
With the league appearing wide open once more, Moyes is keen for Everton to challenge for European qualification this season.
Howe, dealing with the demands of midweek European football, confirmed that Newcastle returned home immediately after their defeat to Marseille on Tuesday.
He explained: “We decided to come back straight after the game and tried to get back into our normal routine and rhythms. I thought the players looked well and we will get a better gauge today.”
If Everton are aiming for European football next season, they will need to learn how to handle these kinds of challenges too.
