Micah Richards has praised Newcastle United head coach Eddie Howe in The Daily Mail.
The former Manchester City and Aston Villa defender has admitted that he had concerns about Howe and Newcastle in the January transfer window.
The BBC Sport and Sky Sports pundit has said that Howe has proved him wrong by getting positive results and by being able to get all of his signings to play well for Newcastle.
Newcastle are 14th in the Premier League table at the moment with 25 points from 25 matches, four points above the relegation zone.
Richards wrote: “Top marks to Eddie Howe. I had concerns about Newcastle in January and wondered how he would get all those new signings into his team. The pressure of spending all that money — and getting immediate results — was huge.
“But he has found a way of playing and the run of form they have enjoyed has almost banished any fear of them being relegated. He has done an excellent job and his work in knitting it all together needs acknowledging.”

Eddie Howe doing brilliantly at Newcastle
In our view, Howe has done a wonderful job at Newcastle and is proving that PIF were right to appoint him in the first place.
Kieran Trippier is injured at the moment, but he was playing well, while Dan Burn has done well when he has played.
Now, of course, Newcastle are not out of the woods yet, but the Magpies have given themselves a fighting chance to escape the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season.
Wins against Brentford, Aston Villa and Everton have really helped the Magpies.
