Newcastle United are considering sacking Steve Bruce and hiring Eddie Howe as his replacement at St. James’ Park, according to Newcastle World.

What’s the story?

As announced on Newcastle’s official website yesterday, an investment group led by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), and also comprising PCP Capital Partners and RB Sports & Media, has competed the takeover of Newcastle.

Newcastle World have reported that one of the managers the new Newcastle owners are considering hiring is Howe.

Howe is out of work at the Magpies at the moment following his departure from Bournemouth in the summer of 2020.

Eddie Howe to Bournemouth?

Howe is a very good manager who did extremely well at Bournemouth.

The 43-year-old Englishman, described as “a good manager” by the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson on the LadBible YouTube channel in May 2021, worked with Newcastle duo Callum Wilson and Ryan Fraser at Bournemouth.

Now, Howe is not exactly a big game in the world of football, but his Bournemouth team played on the front foot and tried to win matches.

The Englishman would not be a bad appointment for Newcastle.

According to Transfermarkt.co.uk, Howe has won 230 of the 544 matches he has been in charge, drawing 109 and losing 205.

Howe averages 1.47 points per game.
