The Cherries are currently 10 points above the bottom three.

Eddie Howe has insisted that he will not assume that Bournemouth have secured a second consecutive season in the Premier League until it is mathematically impossible for them to be relegated, Sky Sports reports.

The south coast club are currently 10 points clear of the relegation zone. But while they only have three games left, both Sunderland and Norwich have a game in hand so could catch the Cherries but only if they enjoy an amazing run until the end of the campaign.

But despite there needing to be an incredible run of results for Bournemouth to get dragged into danger – there are also two other sides sat between themselves and the bottom four – Howe explained that he is refusing to accept that they are safe just yet.

“I’ve been saying all along that we don’t feel safe and that’s still not changed. Until we are mathematically safe, I will not relax,” he told Sky Sports.

Though they have three tricky fixtures ahead, they will certainly fancy their chances of picking up the points they need to ensure that they are not relying on other results for their safety to be confirmed.

On Saturday, Bournemouth travel to Everton, who are on the same number of points as Howe’s men and have won just four times at Goodison Park all campaign.

Should the Toffees come out on top though, then they will still feel confident that they have the ability to secure some points against West Brom and Manchester United in their final two games, if those around the drop zone haven’t already confirmed their safety for them.
