Matt Ritchie joined Newcastle United from Bournemouth in the summer transfer window.
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe has told The Scottish Sun that Matt Ritchie will always be remembered at the club.
Ritchie left Premier League side Bournemouth to join Championship outfit Newcastle United in the summer transfer window.
According to The Daily Mail, the Magpies had to pay the Cherries a transfer fee of £12 million in order to secure the services of the 27-year-old winger.
Howe has explained Bournemouth’s decision to part company with the Scotland international.
The former Burnley manager has also stated that Ritchie will always be remembered at the Vitality Stadium.
“We sold him to Newcastle United for a big fee and it was an opportunity we couldn’t deny him,” Howe told The Scottish Sun about Ritchie. “Matty will always be remembered here.”

Ritchie is a very good winger, and the former Portsmouth man has proved to be a brilliant signing for Newcastle.
Leaving a Premier League club for a team in the Championship is a step-down for any player, but the Scotland international is likely to be playing in the top flight of English football again next season.
Newcastle are going strong in the Championship at the moment and are firm favourites to win the division.
Rafael Benitez’s side will return to action on Sunday afternoon when they take on Leeds United away from home at Elland Road in the Championship.
